In Fear of Olive / Magazine - 9 November 2011

Hello!

It's been a while hasn't it? Life just gets in the way so it does. Arv has been busy touring with his band In Fear of Olive who are supporting cult 70s/80s band Magazine.

As they played pretty close to home, I ventured over to Sheffield and got snap happy. Enjoy!

More coming soon :D xx

A Yurting Experience

Arv was busy this last weekend representing Star Photography by snapping some photos of a great camp site offering luxury yurts as the accommodation. Based in Lincolnshire, they call themselves Lincoln Yurts. Appropriate we feel.
Each Yurt is uniquely decorated with it's own theme, perfect for a romantic getaway or stylish break with friends. You needn't worry about staying warm during the winter months, as they are equipped with a stove to keep Jack Frost at bay.

You really have to go visit to appreciate how amazing they are and how much hard work has gone into the site. See their Facebook page for more information and before they get booked up!

Warming the house

A couple of months ago I bought my first home with boyfriend John. We finally got around to warming the house. We had a barbeque and a fire, this we thought, was very suitable considering the theme.

With all the mingling and catching up with friends, not many inspiring photographs were taken, however I feel this one captures the mood of the evening. I particularly like the weird lighting effects:

About the house

With the weather not being up to much of late, the desire to wander in the rain with the camera hasn't been so strong! With autumn well and truly on its way, hot tea and tealights have been more of an inspiration.

Mmmm, typically english, time for tea :)

Real Weddings

Feeling inspired

Setting up this new business is probably one of the most fun things we've ever done, yet also the scariest! Where do you start, how do you win new business, what if people hate our work? All these questions go round in your head!

But with so many ideas and inspiration out there, it just reminds of what we enjoy doing the most, taking photographs. If we do what we love and put our heart and soul into it, we soon realise there's no point in worrying!

Our friends' beautiful wedding

Friends of ours - Nichola and Jay Thomas, got married a few weeks ago. Their wedding was so beautiful, with a Glastonbury Festival theme.

Each table was named after a stage from the festival. The head table was aptly named the 'Pyramid Stage', we were on 'The Other Stage'. Nichola and Jay worked very hard to create such a fantastic day, live music accompanied with home made cake and champagne in teacups!

We want to credit a friend with her excellent design skills, everything from the invitations to the name places were carefully hand-crafted. I have been informed that her website is having some maintenance at the moment, but as soon as it's up and running I will share. Her name is Suzy Hardy, she is very talented.

The cake was simply brilliant, completely self taught, Suze Chapman wowed everyone with her tree stump creation. The leaves had messages relating to things about Nichola and Jay, guests contributed notes, which we think was a lovely touch.

I share with you some images our wonderful friends created:
